Ask Hossameldin
A public Q&A wall where anyone can ask me about testing, careers and life in Germany, with private chat and notifications when I answer.
The problem
People were asking me the same career and relocation questions in private messages. A public wall lets one answer help many people, mostly Arabic-speaking developers arriving from X on their phones.
What I built
Anyone can ask a question, publicly or privately. I answer from an installable admin app. Askers can get a push notification when their answer is ready, like answers and ask follow-ups, or continue privately in an anonymous chat. Every answer gets its own share image that renders Arabic and mixed Arabic-English text correctly.
How I tested it
Vitest suites for the share-image text pipeline (Arabic shaping, bidirectional text and line wrapping, measured with the real fonts) and a test that keeps the brand colours in code and CSS in sync. Rate limits, honeypots and timing checks protect the forms; IP addresses are only stored as salted hashes.
